Released in 1998, the "Land Cruiser 100" is a high-performance cross-country vehicle developed as the successor to the "Land Cruiser 80" under the concept "The King of 4WD," combining off-road capability and practicality. The chassis of this vehicle uses the traditional ladder frame, constituting a robust body. Grades available for the model released in April 2005 include the high-spec "Cygnus," "VX," and "VX Limited." This model features safety functions such as ABS, dual airbags, seatbelts with pretensioners & force limiters, and security functions like an auto alarm function and immobilizer as standard on all cars. The "Cygnus" offers the "Night View" function, which assists visibility using near-infrared light, as an option. The model released in April 2006 includes special editions such as "VX Limited 60th Special Edition" and "VX Limited G Selection 60th Special Edition." Exclusive dark wood grain panels, exclusive dark genuine wood steering wheel & shift knob, and G-BOOK compatible DVD navigation with EMV are equipped on all these special edition vehicles. Production ended in 2007, with the "Land Cruiser 200" appearing as its successor. The information in this description is current as of October 2018.
