TOYOTA CELSIOR Description

The "Celsior" is a 4-door sedan combining quietness and ride comfort, debuting in 1989. The name originates from the Latin word meaning "supreme." This vehicle offered three grades based on equipment differences: A, B, and C, a structure maintained up to the third-generation model. The first model's "A specification" featured coil spring suspension, the "B specification" equipped "Piezo TEMS," a suspension system that electronically controlled damper damping force based on road conditions, and the "C specification"搭載 (was equipped with) an electronically controlled air suspension realizing even greater ride comfort. The third-generation model, which underwent a full model change in August 2000, was developed under the theme "Pursuit of the pinnacle of 21st-century luxury cars," featuring a revamped platform. Although this car was initially sold overseas as the Lexus brand's flagship "LS," the domestic launch of the "LS" began in 2005, and with the sale of the fourth-generation "LS" in 2006, the "Celsior" name ended. Grades available for the model released in July 2004 include "A specification" and "C specification." This model achieved cleaner exhaust emissions, meeting the "Fiscal 2010 Fuel Efficiency Standard" and the "Heisei 17 Emission Standard 75% Reduction Level" under the low emission vehicle certification system.
