Launched by Nissan in 1989, the "180SX" is a 3-door compact coupe offering a sporty feel. This car was adapted for the Japanese market based on the "240SX," the North American model of the 5th generation "Silvia." Developed under the catchphrase "for FR Pilot," it targeted users "who have a strong commitment to cars, love driving, and want to showcase their sense." It features retractable headlights, large bumpers, and a sizable hatchback door, achieving an aerodynamic design with a low CD value (coefficient of drag). Grades available for the model released in October 1997 include "Type G" and "Type S," which is equipped with side sill protectors. In this model, the steering wheel, shift knob, and parking brake became antibacterial specification on all cars. Privacy glass for the rear side and rear windows was available as a manufacturer option. Available body colors included the newly added "Yellow," as well as "White" and "Super Black." Production of this car ended in 1998, as it was integrated into the Silvia line. The information in this description is current as of October 2018.
