MITSUBISHI GTO Description

The Mitsubishi "GTO" is a sports coupe type vehicle developed as the successor to the company's "Starion." Announced as "HSX" at the 1989 Tokyo Motor Show, sales began in 1990. This car features a low-slung, wide sports car body adopting the "Coke bottle line" with a waist-like constriction. The first model was characterized by retractable headlights. Additionally, twin-turbo models featured an active exhaust system that allowed changing the exhaust sound with a switch. This car was supplied as an OEM to Chrysler's "Dodge Stealth" from 1991 to 1996. The model released in August 1998 adopted combination lamps for the front turn signals, and ABS and dual airbags became standard safety equipment. A total of 5 body colors were available, including "Pyrenees Black," "Timber Green," and "Galaxy White." The information in this description is current as of August 2018.
