The "GLE" is the core model of the SUV series born as the successor to the M-Class, which was sold from 1997 to 2015. Sales started in 2015, replacing the M-Class, initially offering only clean diesel models equipped with the BlueTEC engine. Later, with the full model change to the second generation in 2019, a gasoline engine equipped with "ISG (Integrated Starter Generator)," a generator combining alternator and starter functions, was newly introduced. The current latest model announced in 2021 features a powerful front end and includes a tablet. Four grades are available: "GLE 300d 4MATIC," "GLE 400d 4MATIC Sport," "GLE 400d 4MATIC Coupe Sport," and "GLE 450 4MATIC Sport." Body colors include luxurious options like "Diamond White" and "Selenite Gray," as well as multiple other colors like "Brilliant Blue." The "GLE" incorporates functions enhancing driving safety, researched by Mercedes-Benz over many years. It features radar functions to detect surroundings and a stereo camera capturing up to 500m ahead. Additionally, it supports automatically maintaining the distance to the vehicle ahead on highways and in cities.
